We live in a house with 3 bedrooms in a lovely leafy suburb in Sydney.
It has white walls and high ceilings. It has a deep bathtub in a clean bathroom. It has a shower with wonderful water pressure and a huge hot water tank.
It has a lovely big kitchen with gas stove and oven. There is a deep ceramic sink with old style taps. It has gas hot water and heating. I have lovely kitchen appliances and all the tools I need to reinvigorate my lost love of cooking. It has a huge dining table where our friends and family sit when they pop over or come for never-ending dinners.
It has polished floorboards with lovely rugs in the living room. It has a lovely big comfy sofa with huge cushions. We have a great sound system and the house is always full of music. We have some lovely art on the walls of the house, including photographs of and by us and our friends.
My son has his own bedroom painted in yellow. He has a desk and lots of book shelves covered in books and games.
We have a lovely big garden with a huge sunny patch where the vegetables grow like crazy. We have a dog that is part of our family. The house has a long hallway with the bedrooms coming off.
We have a lovely porch out the back where we can sit to eat on balmy summer evenings and if it’s too hot we can sit inside in the air-conditioned rooms (not every room !).
We have friendly neighbours with kids that my son can play with and who let us borrow their tools and we lend them ours! We are within walking distance to the school and my son has lots of friends who come over to play and sleep over regularly.
There are bay windows and some stained glass ones and some lovely old style tiling in the entrance. There are plenty of hooks on the entry wall for my son to hang his school backpack and jacket on and for the kids to dump all their stuff when they stop over for snacks on the way home from school.
We are within easy distance to lovely cafes and restaurants and the shops in the area stock all the tastiest food including plenty of organic veg at incredibly good prices.
We have a garage so we always have somewhere to park the car and bikes. We can walk to the public transport and to the local park.
Warm in winter with no drafts and cool in summer.
We love living here, it really is our dream house.
