Since I was a child I`ve always been compelled to look for things that interested and excited me, that would make me grow and it wasn`t always comfortable. I realise that I invited those challenges so I could learn about myself and how I could find my purpose and give my life meaning.
I studied a Marketing degree and after graduation, at age 21, traveled India without a plan or map on a motorbike with my boyfriend. Although I arrived in London with only £50 I traded-in a secure graduate position at a big insurance company for a place at drama school. Lots of waitressing paid the bills.
I let go of a performance place in one of Sydney’s leading Shakespearean companies because, after a random phone call, I landed a marketing role at a fledgling film magazine that became Inside Film and thought I`d give it a go. My last role with that job as Creative Director of the first (now multi-million dollar) Australian Inside Film Awards.
This led to many film-related jobs in independent and commercial films as actor, art director, costume maker, first assistant director and line producer. So I accumulated tonnes of in-front and behind the camera experience over the years.
Then I returned to the live theatre world where I worked as a therapeutic Clown Doctor in children`s hospitals in Australia and as a stilt-walker in no less than seven countries… and finally returned to France to study theatre again. There I met my Swiss husband and when I moved to Switzerland at 36 years old, I learnt German – that was a challenge to be reckoned with!
I`m now at a place where I’m able to share the lessons I have learned from my life in a unique way that empowers others. In fact what I am doing right now appears to have been inevitable all along and it seems there was no other reason for having lived my life making the choices that I was compelled to.
